HANDLE® Training
To continue to fulfill its mission of training others in the principles and practices developed by Judith Bluestone, Founder and Clinical & Educational Director, The HANDLE Institute International, LLC offers several different levels of training programs.
Valerie MacLean is a Certified HANDLE Instructor, offering the "Get a HANDLE on Neurodevelopmental Differences" introductory level courses across Canada. This course is a prerequisite for Intermediate Training, and is open to all.
This course is designed for those who interact with children and adults experiencing cognitive, motor, and behavioural difficulties. The HANDLE paradigm has proven itself a practical tool for achieving functional outcomes by applying a systems approach to assessment, and by providing customized treatment programs for individual, families, and communities around the world.
ADD/ADHD, brain injury, autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration disorders, learning disabilities, obsessive-compulsive disorders, cerebral palsy, anxiety disorders, etc, are the labels often used to describe behavioural and academic challenges that many people face. HANDLE will help you see beyond these labels and gain an understanding of the underlying causes of these behaviours.
This 12-hour introductory class will give you clear insights into the neurodevelopmental roots of many dysfunctions and challenges, as well as well as leave you with practical ideas you can apply.
